but wasnt the whole reason doom bfg even exists because of the occulas rift?
how is it not a launch title

that said, this brings fear that it will be under utilized...

all i can really hope for is that they put out a custom 3d so at the VERY least, you can get 3d support for all games...

Cause doom3 was a must have? Linear corridor shooter that was utterly surpassed by half life 2.

No one plays doom3, but there are thousands still playing team fortress 2 multiplayer.

A downslide? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Do you even realize that this is a dev kit and not meant for consumers yet?

I don't care for Team Fortress 2, but this in no way speaks ill of the Rift.

Doom3 will still be made for OR it just missed the "launch date". My theory on what happened was Doom3 was already running on the old prototype version so support had to be hacked in. Now that the Rift has a proper SDK it will have to be implemented all over again.

Team Fortress 2 will be the first official launch game on the Oculus Rift, as Valve will be rolling out the update to get the game supporting the VR headset within the next few weeks. Oculus Rift is still working on getting support for Hawken going.
