RIP.
A note to the editorial team: "killed in police chase" unfairly makes it sound like he was the one being chased. "by police chase" would at least be slightly better.

Very unfortunate. :_-( I do not know Mr. Andrew Reisse, but anyone that contribute's to the technology industry (which I enjoy very much) I am greatly saddened. I hope that Mr. Reisse can continue his hard work in a place where he doesn't have to worry about violence and crime. A prayer for you, your family, co-workers, and friends Mr. Reisse.

RIP dude. Sounds like a good person who actually did something for a lot of people.
The title of this article does suck.
Police chases can be deadly. Many years ago I was almost rear-ended by a fleeing car - he dodge my car stopped at a red light with 2 cars in front of me. He went off-road and missed my car by a few feet... the 3 police cards chasing him were better at avoiding us.
That sucks... Oculus Rift looks like an awesome product that I WANT TO BUY!

Sad news. It's true what some people are saying that the criminal nature of the perps and the obvious net loss to society is tragic, but really it may as well have been some drunken students that drove into him.
It's just sad news. It always is when the good suffer from the actions of the callous.

Cops should be put on trial for chasing the target at high speed which in turn kills US. A simple chopper flying overhead etc is all that's needed until they either run out of gas or go home (ironically this is usually the case when not being chased and they are not in a hurry as such).
Or yeah, some sniper shots into the engine. Anything but driving 100mph through traffic so some cops can get driving experience at our expense. Classic case of stupid police work. We don't have enough unmarked cars on the road that could do this without them even knowing? choppers? etc. There are so many options that would NOT put our lives in danger at the same time.

I thought the police had a Policy of "no chase" if it could endanger others?! This is happening to often, especially on city streets.

Sad news indeed. But I also gotta agree with this.
