I recently installed this drive and noticed after a week or two it was taking fairly long for my pc to boot. It took about 30 secs to post and after that all was as normal. I went into the BIOS to check boot device etc and noticed S.M.A.R.T. was enabled on the motherboard.

Am I right in thinking this is for HDD's not SSD's? I have disabled it and now booting has returned to normal - win7 and all software loads in about 30 secs.

Should S.M.A.R.T. be enabled or does it not have much effect on SSD's? Done some searching on Google but can't find a conclusive answer...
