Hi, i have 2x2GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 6400 6-6-6-18 @1.8v (OCZ2P8002G) and i need to upgrade to 8GB. I can`t seem to find the same kit. The closest one is the OCZ2VU8004GK that is DDR2 6400 5-6-6-18 @1.8v (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227195)

My motherboard allows for fine tunning the memory timings. Will these 2 kits work on dual channel mode automatically, or at least manually loosing the second kit timings?

My motherboard is an Asus P5k Se (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5K_SE/) With a modded Xeon L5420 (2,5GHZ/12MB @ 3,0GHZ - 7,5x400).

If not, can anyone tell me whats the best way around this issue?

I dont know it may it may not there's no way to tell other than trying it, it may not even post and allow you to match up the settings in the bios. I dont think there is any way around it other than finding the same ram which im sure will be hard to do since they dont make DDR2 ram anymore. I would recommenced you dont spend any more money on that pc its getting pretty old it might be time for a full upgrade.
Hard to say. I bought one 6GB DDR3 kit and the same exact kit again a year later. Started getting BSOD and memory errors using MemTest86+. Turns out that the date they were made was enough to cause a compatibility issue, according to G.Skill, and they offered to swap both kits out for a 12GB kit. I don't think DDR2 cares as much but you should just try it. If anything, just loosen the timings of the new kit to match the old.

Hi! I`m here to share the outcome of this history... The kits worked together like a charm! No config needed. I just installed them and now i have 2+2+2+2 @ 6-6-6-18. No problems so far.
