Odd Boot for a Fresh x99 Sabertooth - Anything to look out for?

I just finished assembling a fresh x99 Sabertooth motherboard (with new stuff) and I noticed something peculiar - when powering the computer on, the computer appears to turn on for a second, turns "off", and after a few seconds turns back on and boots up like normal. The computer restarts perfectly fine too. Am I obsessing over something I shouldn't here?

I also had it lock up once in the Bios so far. Anything to look out for? Should I update the Bios asap?

check with makers site for your exact model (including revision number) check supported cpu list, find yours and check the bios revision they advise for that cpu is what you have installed. update if not . bios installed will need settings set again as they will go default

Well, I shut the computer down and turned it back on this time and the weird bootup did not occur this time. I suspect it only occurs now when the PSU is turned off completely and on the first boot only (Assembly boot it did this, and when it relocated). Any thoughts?

I recently built a 5820 on a Sabertooth. Did not experience the same problems as you but it does fire up all the fans to max when you turn it on and then they settle down. Is it possible you are misinterpreting this behavior as shutting down?

Also it seemed the first couple of days after the build it took an inordinately long time to boot even with fast boot turned on. That went away and it boots fast now.

I will expirement unplugging my PSU tonight.

The problem occurred again. I was adding a BD Drive, a 3.5 HDD loading drive, and relocating the case fans to the motherboard from the Case. I was thinking maybe I was imagining it with the case not booting up on start. When I turned it on, the computer was on for 1-2 seconds, then the lights, fans, everything turned off (front fans have LED's), then after a 2-3 second period, it would turn back on and boot normally. I have not encountered this problem yet after just shutting the computer down and turning it back on - it seems to occur when I work on it (when I cut the power).

Another funny thing I have noticed is that when I do shutdown, I do hear a fan inside the computer still spinning at a very high RPM. The case fans were not running, and I do not believe it was the Noctua, which from elimination leaves it to be the little 80mm Armor fan.

Maybe it is the PSU, Motherboard?

The computer otherwise appears to be working just fine for the most part. However, I would like to run some diagnostic tests to see if everything else is running fine - any recommendations? Should I be concerned by this micro power on - off - on initial boot?

I did not get a chance to mess with my system tonight but will in the morning. The 80mm fan stays on for 30 seconds by default, you can adjust this in bios. There is also a setting to set the interval for the fans to run backwards to "dedust."

Well, now that I have the fans re-wired, I think the ones that are plugged into the "assist" pins (the 80mm is plugged into a similar named socket) keep running for a bit longer after it shuts down. Its actually a pretty clever thing. Plus, it makes sense to have it run afterward and since you see that too, thats a relief.

However, the power on/off/on on initial startup after having the power cut is still a concern. It is weird to see it turn on and all the red lights on, boom off.... then after an awkward 4 seconds or so, it turns right on and boots.
