It all began when I plugged in my buddies SSD into my motherboard to get a fresh copy of windows onto it for his new build. As soon as I did this, my computer bogged down heavily. This has never happened before. I checked the drive, it only had games installed on it, so i formatted it and put windows on it. After doing this, windows could no longer find MY own boot drive. I took out all the other drives, tinkered with the BIOS and still couldn't get a boot off my drive. I unfortunately had to reformat my drive and install a fresh copy of windows to get a boot.

Now where the problem comes in... My computer will randomly enter a very slow state, like almost a sleep state. I can still use my mouse but I can't open anything or run any programs. I can't even click reboot or sign out, I have to do a hard reset EVERY time it happens. Something I've noticed when this takes place is that my Corsair K100 will go back to its default lighting and the fan rpms will slow way down. Also, when I lye down and watch a movie there is a very high chance this problem with happen. When I play games it doesn't happen, but today when I booted my pc from sleep it started this problem within the first few minutes of logging in. This has never been an issue in the two years I've built the system.

Things I've tried:
Updating Windows
Updating BIOS
Updating Ryzen Chipset
Updating Nvidia graphics
Running Malwarebytes (no threats)
Running windows self check (it said it found corrupt file and fixed it, problem persists)
Uninstalling Corsair ICUE

System:
Ryzen 7 5700x
MSI MPG x570
RTX 2080ti
32gb Corsair Vengeance
Corsair HX1000
*custom water-cooled loop

At current moment, nothing is hogging system resources. Better to look at Process Explorer when PC slows down, to see what is going on. E.g which app is using loads of CPU/GPU/disk performance. Once that's established, we can go forward to either remove the app from your system, or find a fix for it.

problem still occurs
The system will completely freeze, i am unable to run the program Aeacus recommended. Only a hard reboot will allow me to resume operations.
Any help appreciated

Since no troubleshooting can be done, once freeze happens, it is very hard, if not impossible to find out why freezes happen.

Here, i suggest that you format your OS drive and make a clean Win install.
Once you've started fresh, and still get freezes, it's time to look towards hardware issues. Though, hardware issues, very rarely froze the system completely and usually, it's to do with software issue(s).

Just wanted to update anyone having the same issues, it is Ryzen processor related. Im not sure why, but all the claims I found we're all Ryzen systems. I upgraded to intel and have had no issues since.
