So, I have this 8 GB Kingston SD (class 4) for years and it started putting up SD broken warnings on my phone (which was plugged into) so I hooked it up to a PC and started copying stuff so I can format it. However, it does these weird things:
1)If the speed/data transferred exceeds a level (not constant) it crashes whatever program is doing the transfer (explorer, TeraCopy, PhotoRec etc)
2)Formatting from My PC points proves impossible, same goes for diskpart where it hangs
3)Imaging does not work, it crashes these programs too
4)If any of the above happens it's not recognized by PC until it's replugged
5)When a file is cut and above happens the file gets back there again
I have worked around and got the files safe, the SD is probably going to have a place in my graveyard of electronics, but I am curious about what could it be. Not a basic flash defect, probably not a full controller defect as well (since data is intact and copiable)
