Hello,

i am posting this asking for help. i am working on a youtube video to demonstrate windows xp extended kernel called one core api.

i am using unifiocal supported hardware. my pc im using for the windows xp pro 64bit sp2 instlation is a dell precsion T7610. so xp runs and installs just with a usb drive. i am using snappy driver installer to get most of my drivers installed for windows xp. my gpu is a nvidia quadro k4000 3gb gddr5, i have 40gb ddr3 ecc ram installed, and a intel xeon E5 1650 v2 3.50ghz a 6 core 121 threaded xeon, will be upgrading to a intel xeon E5-2687w v2 which is a 3.40ghz cpu that turbo boosts up to 4.00ghz, which will be really nice for windows xp making it really really fast.

i am evntually planning on upgrading to a dell precsion T790 which is a Xeon v4 system dual cpu unit which i know is over kill for xp but i like over kill systems kind of have a thing for them. but to get down to the point i a Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller, i tried using the unifoical drivers by snapppy driver installer to get the device working but it just shows up with a ! mark and says the foilowing error message, This device Cannot Start (Code 10). it is enabled and says location is PCI slot 17 (PCI bus 7, device 0, function 0)
not sure if that helps at all but thought i would include it.

here is a screen shot of the error message View: https://imgur.com/gallery/usb-3-0-error-on-windows-xp-on-dell-precision-t7610-Rum3F7S

That's the first red flag. Using 3rd party apps to tell you what needs updating usually ends up with a bricked board. Plenty of instances like that around the www, not just our forums.

Official support for that workstation is Windows 7...and above or Linux. You're working against the grain here by going Windows Xp.

This post might be of relevance;

On that note, you might be able to force your way using generic drivers or ported drivers but your ports functionality can and will vary to the point where it doesn't get flagged with an error of sorts but your speeds are abysmal. Give this a whirl;

Besides making a YT video, what are you actually trying to gain with all this effort?
