When I start up my computer, it will sometimes freeze up at the start, and I have never had it happen after it has been running for a little. The only thing I can think of would be something to do with my drivers, but I am not sure. Any ideas on what could be causing would be helpful.

Also, the basic system specs are:
-Intel I7-4770K
-ASRock extreme 6
-Samsung SSD 840 pro
-Corsair memory
-Corsair H80i
-it was happening before I even got the video card installed

If there is anything else please let me know.

Solution
you could try to boot up a linux on cd (knoppix for example) instead of windows to rule out any problems with the os/drivers. if it freezes when you start this up it's not windows but a hardware problem. (and you can start testing each one .. ram is easiest with memtest, then prime95 for cpu, etc).

- most likely culprits are the psu pr motherboard.

It does sound like a hardware bug if the problem cures itself once everything has warmed up a bit. What make and model PSU do you have? That sounds like the most likely candidate (as a faulty motherboard would probably have other problems like issues with ports, blue screen errors and so on).

with my old system i had a Core 2 Duo E8400 and a radeon 5770 and a 400 watt PSU with no 80plus stuff, it worked all fine.
but when i upgraded too a i5 4430 (no extra GPU), when the gigabyte screen was supossed too show up, it just frooze and shut down.
but when i got a new PSU(650 watt-80 bronze) there was no boot fail.

Hey guys, sorry its been a while, the problem suddenly stopped all together and now it hasn't happened again, i guess some things just needed to be broken in.

Also, my psu is a corsair AXi 860, brand new so that shouldn't have been causing any problems.
