OEM Windows 7 Key

Basically im thinking of buying a new motherboard meaning i will need to re-install windows if im not mistaken.I'd like to know if i will be able to use the key that is already on the existing motherboard as it is a OEM version,will i need to re-buy windows or will the key work straight away?If not,can i contact windows and ask for a new key as im switching motherboards?

Normally, you'll need to buy a new license for a new motherboard. If you had a motherboard failure however, Microsoft may be willing to reactivate your Windows if you call them. At worst, they'll say No, but they've done that for me at least twice after systems croaked.
