1st of all, please try to stay away from buying components from ebay, i know they may seem the cheapest option but you run the high risk of getting a fake that is a piece of garbage (I highly recommend buying from newegg). For a gaming monitor i would suggest something like the Asus VG248QE or something that is 144hz and is 1ms. For gaming you would usually want to stay away from an ultra widescreen monitor, as some games do not support it and your machine may not be able to run it (depending on your specs)

Yakrov is right.consider a branded monitor and dont buy ones from ebay .Newegg is the best option.the best monitor brands for the price are ASUS and BenQ.Especially used in league gaming)
anything other than this will probabay costly for the same features.Hope it helps.

"Casual gaming" meaning response time and refresh rate aren't important to me at all just as long as its at least 6ms and 60hz.
I guess I should've specified that I'm only looking at IPS panels as I am a contrast lover 😉
Secondly, I'm not planning on buying from eBay, that was just some browsing I'd done and they happened to be the websites I was on when I made this thread. I can get the ultra-widescreen monitors for the same prices elsewhere.
The Korean monitor is a different story - it has been recommended by many for being just as good as its 'branded' counterparts but so much cheaper, and without a compromise in build quality. eBay is the only place you can buy them but many have confirmed its legitimacy.

So to rephrase to question; in your opinion, which is the best aspect ratio and resolution combination for a mix of casual gaming, editing and productivity?

The single input (Dual-Link DVI) Qnix QX2710/X-Star DP2710 are made by the same company, use the same panels (they use at least 3 different PLS panels now) and tend to use LED PWM Dimming. The Crossover 2795 does not use LED PWM Dimming, can be overclocked and has excellent colour presets, high contrast and fast pixel response times. So, I suggest that you prefer the Crossover 2795QHD.
