Hello

I recently got a GTX 750 Ti. I have a VGA 1024x768 monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 740n).

when i try to play a game at a 16:9 resolution (1280x720 for example) the game is stretched and sometimes part of the game doesn't appear on the screen. on my old geforce 210, it had letterbox and the games looked neat!

I use a DVI-I to VGA cable in order for my monitor to work on the GPU.

I did some searching and people said I have to enable GPU scaling but GPU option isn't there in nvidia control panel. here's how it looks like: http://imgur.com/IBXYypo

Another thing that might be helpful is that NCP detects my monitor as 'Analog Display' instead of writing the model number of my monitor.

I have tried doing a clean install of the nvidia drivers 2 times in safe mode and the problem is still here.

I've been trying to solve this for weeks, that's why I'm giving a reward to whoever manages to help me fix it.

Hello... I feel for ya here... I have been around since "plug and play" was screamed "plug and PRAY"... Third party driver removal can involve editing your Registry... Windows, Device Manager and Program Removal App have always done the job for me.
Well... How about trying to install a previous restore point ( Registry ) when every thing was working good... Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery

Everything was working good when I had the GeForce 210. GPU scaling never worked for me when i got the GTX 750 Ti.
Everything was all the same before and after using DDU

Didn't work =/

Create duplicate and it should show in screen resolution 1st primary and secondary and just disable secondary. That i did if i remember...
Ps. Secondary should be right of your screen and you can move your mouse there .
Edit: Yea its harder to solve cause my old nvidia died..... Ive got amd soo i forgot all tricks....

Doesn't work.

Alright, the driver downloaded from Samsung's website contained a file that unzipped it's contents in the temp folder. I manged to pull up these two files out of there. I don't really know if they have any usage in this situation. You can download them and see if they're helpful in anyway. Link below.

I've contacted Samsung support but they were being d!cks and they kept leading me to the driver link which I already have...

The monitor has 6 buttons:

1. Power button: turn ON/OFF the monitor
2. Auto button. I've tried pressing but all it did was a pop-up appearing saying auto adjustment going from 1% to 100% and then the pop-up disappears with no effect on the display.
3. Enter button: This button has no effect on the monitor unless you're in the menu and cycling between options. (Like the keyboard's Enter button)
4. Brightness/Up button: This button has 2 usages. Adjusting the brightness of the monitor and cycling through the menu.
5. Magic bright/ Down button. This button has 2 usages. Cycling through a preset of brightness settings and cycling through the menu.
6. Finally the menu button. It has some set of settings...It lets you edit brightness and contrast, Magic color, Color Tone, Color Control, Gamma, Coarse, Fine, Sharpness, H-Position, V-Position, Language, Another H-Position and V-Position options (Don't know why), Transparency (Of menu probably cause menu was transparent), Display time and then Image reset, Color reset options and finally information.

Here are what everything is set to:
Menu#1(Picture):

Brightness: 50
Contrast: 60

Menu#2(Image):

Coarse:1360
Fine: 80
Sharpness: 100
H-Position: 31
V-Position: 50

Menu#3(OSD):

Language: English
H-Position: 50
V-Position: 50
Transparency: On
Display Time: 200 sec

Menu#4(Setup)

You can reset Image and Color settings here.

The monitor doesn't give you much options to choose from. The only thing you can reset is image and color settings, I've tried resetting image settings and all it did was move desktop's position, My problem is with scaling. This monitor has no scaling options that's why I need to fix the EDID so the scaling can be left to the GPU.

And how to flash it? Do you even know what it means by flashing it? I once flashed the BIOS. It basically means updating....
