I am wondering, if V-Sync/G-Sync with a 144Hz monitor would be the solution to CS:GO? With constant 144 fps, the mouse shouldn't become sluggish, right?!
On a 60hz monitor with VSync enabled, if the frame rate drops, it drops in multiples of 60 (30, 15, 12, etc.). The drop from 60 frames per second to 30 frames per second creates very noticeable stuttering.
I recently got an MSI GTX 970 and I have a LG 1080p monitor. I utterly hate screen tearing and I get weird lag with games if v-ysnc is off so I have always put v-sync on even before I got the new card. If there is no option to v-sync a game I will use NVidia 3D settings in the control panel to force it and if that doesn't work I would use a v-sync forcing software I have.
I don't play completive multiplayer games and I have never felt input lag in games with v-sync off. I am happy with not tearing thanks.
