You're an idiot :)

"1. Overclocking a C2D is so easy a chimp could do it. "

Yes, becuase intelligence is based on nerdy assed **** like OC'ing a C2D.
You're mind works in mysterious ways. What I actually said was OC'ing isnt "nerdy assed ****" because anyone can do it.

however things like this were the reason I dont use forums often.
We're glad you wont be coming back, bye bye o/

I would like to thank the majority of you for continuing to provide empty and tasteless entertainment at the expense of others.

Common arguments:

"My Intel is better than your AMD"
"My AMD is better than your Intel"

Common thought:

"I pwned that AMD fanboy"
"I pwned that Intel fanboy"

Unavoidable evidence: Many of you pack very light when it comes to brain matter and sexual appendages.

Words of substance:

To Curmudgeon5462, I congratulate you on your new purchase. Also, on behalf of many forum goers, I sincerely apologize for the large amounts of excrement you have encountered thus far.

Right. It doesn't 'rock my face off' (still don't understand how this could be 'sarcasm'. Do you mean 'irony'? Even then I don't see it. There's no context within which one could see it as ironic.) because it's got cheap-ass components mixed with quality components.

Fair enough: you're on a budget, and you're sacrificing a few things. But even then it makes no sense. Why run at stock? This won't 'rock my face off' either. Get an e4300 and OC it. I know you say you won't OC, but if you're on a budget, WHY THE HELL NOT???!!!

No arguments with GFX purchase. That'll do the job nicely, thanks very much.

PSU _is_ a worry. If I had such expensive components, I'd want a PSU with PFC and reliability. The last thing you want is it breaking after a year and destroying your CPU/mobo/GFX/memory maybe HDs in the process. It's also nice for it to be efficient, so that it doesn't cost as much (I worked out that an 85% efficient PSU will save you about £30 a year (300W usage, 10 hours a day), so probably $50 in the US given you probably pay less for energy. Mulitply that by 3 for an average life span of a computer, and you've just justified the purchase of an efficient PSU. Mind you, I'm guessing you don't pay the bills...), generates less heat, and will likely be less noisy.

Btw...
Man you guys sure showed me.

Wait...

No, no you didn't, however you did manage to convince me that your all a bunch of typical forum using douchebags, congrats.

You probably should be aware that you are using the forum too...

You got a 8800GTX and you plan to use Dial up? Please tell me your not using that rig for gaming...

You are aware that it is possible to play games without being connected to the internet, right?

Just from that post, you make it seem like all games are played over the net.

What the SH!T does a video card have to do with an internet connection? Answer = Nothing.

Lol, surfing prOn perhaps...but may be he's strictly offline gamer

Look up the 5400, 2 X 512 L2 cache compared to the 5200 1mb cache, I could be wrong (Im kinda new to this) but it would be worth droping .2ghz to get more L2 cache.

AFAIK, AMD's cpu wont differ much when L2 cache are taken into consideration.I'll try looking for the fact and post later. Look my sig, I'm AMD cpu user, but hell no, I'm not fanboy of any company (at least not anymore/that I'm aware of)...If you're on tight budget, I totally understand, I'm using Venics 3000+ @ stock, but I'm afraid your purchase is kind of not so future proof. Even if you argue AM2+ cpu would fit, some features might not be supported, but take this with a lot grain of salt, I'll look around for facts

You probably should be aware that you are using the forum too...
8O Ouch!!!

Your new rig is ok,and it will play all games fairly well, but it hardly rocks my face off.LOL.

Thanks for the advise and constructive critisism, those who where smart enough to provide it.

Doesn't OCing reduce the lifespan of your components? (Unless of course you buy a badass cooling system). That is why I dont overclock, but not sure about it. It seems like it would or companys would set stuff to overclock stock.

"If I wanted to get a rise out of you Id post a picture of a 300 pound lice infested a lovely person ass lesbian. (Or Rosie O'Donnel, whichever I found first.)

Its good to know that your into fat ass ugly lesbians."

Weak. Key word being you in my post.

"You're mind works in mysterious ways. What I actually said was OC'ing isnt "nerdy assed ****" because anyone can do it. ""

I can see how you might have meant it that way, but due to the insults (weak ones BTW) I was getting, it was only safe to asume you were saying I was dumber than a chimp for not OC'ing a pentium. But your still a douchebag, and Im still not going to buy an intel.

"You probably should be aware that you are using the forum too..."

Once again, weak. We all know there are douchebags, and decent people on forums, here are some examples of both. (I know what your going to say, "you fit in the douchebag catergory", but I never flamed you guys until you flamed me, your just mad because your insults were shittier than Elton Johns dick.)

douchebags: proof, RobsX2, sheepish, (my fingers would fall off if I listed every douchebag I have encountered).

decent people: jeff####, lotus28, DScott79. You dont have to like my setup to be on this list, I realize allot of your PC's would kick mines ass, but Im quite happy with it, compared to my last computer.

Who would use rock your face off without it being in a joking manner? That would be like if Tenacious-D was a serious rock band.

Oh yeah, and in all seriousness, how many of you have actual experiance with a rosewill PSU? I know its suposed to be crappy, but I have seen them run for 3 years without an issue. Maybe thier quality increased since they were labeled crappy PSU's.

Then again maybe the people I know using them just got lucky.

You guys are nuts, come on, give the guy a break.

Have you read any of this guys comments? First the starts off by asking for a flame war. Then he makes comments on how stupid we all are and how our opinions do not matter. Then he keeps the flood gates open and posts even more cow plop. He then finishes by childish name calling. I agree with most here and hope his $55 dollar PSU blows his whole system. His uneducated stubborness deserves it.

One more thing, he did start and almost ask for this flame thread.

Although I normally don't involve myself in forum bickering, I found the irony of this post (and many others in response to the OP) quite striking. Because regardless of the intention of the OP (whether or not it was intended to start a flame) the fact remains that it takes two sides to create a flame war. So basically, all those flaming the OP for creating a "flame thread" are equally to blame because had they not posted said flames, there would be no flame thread. Ironic, no?

Anyway seeing as this is the Homebuilt forum, I'll respond to a question posed earlier about overclocking. It will shorten the life of components, but unless it's a huge overclock it won't really matter. Maybe the CPU will last 7 years instead of 10- by that point it'll be beyond obsolete anyway. The CPU will slowly succumb to everyday wear n' tear regardless, overclocking speeds it up a little.

i dont think its that bad from what i can see you where on a bugit and wonted somthing that would run nice for the money you put in i would change your power supply and add a gig of ram tho

No, not even close, no way.

Is it a decent system with some flaws? Yes.

Does it even remotely blow me away? Absolutely not.

Yes there are some components like many others here I'm sure I'd chosen differently. The case I can see skimping on as long as you have good airflow. The PSU, eh not so much. I'm not going to nitpick the entire setup tho as it is a decent gaming system. But not mind-blowing by any stretch. Have fun tho it will serve you well for a while :)

"I don't see any pentium fanboys in here. Quote me one person that said to get a pentium cpu."

Well, you for one, dumbass.

"I hope your joking. Have you heard of the Core 2 Duo????"

Then there's this post.

"I will give that a +1"

"The 5200 is a great cpu that is about a E6300 in performance, but you could OC the similar priced E6300, E6400 or cheaper E4300 C2D's not pentiums and have it kill your cpu."

Did I not mention Im not OC'ing this system. There you go telling me to buy an Pentium in the same post you ask me to quote someone telling me to buy an Pentium.

My dont we feel stupid?

What a moron! It is your money, your decision, your low performance... STFU!!!
WTF are you asking for advice/opinions, then dissing on peeps that offer thier advice... NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO TAKE IT, besides, you asked for it! DumbA$$!!!

Ouch :!:

Do you seriously still not know how to use the quote function?

I can't belive you continue to fight with these people who know much more than you do. Fighting online is like the Special Olympics, even if you win your still retarded.

Yeah, I know how to use it, but its way easier to copy and paste jackasses.

Weren't you fighting me this whole time dumbass? And that phrase is almost as worn out as your asshole.

I never said you dont know more than me, infact, I never argued about your suggestions, (other than people continually telling me to OC an intel, even though Im damn sure I said I dont OC). I remember saying in this very page that Im new to this and that this is only my second build.

RichPLS, I dont recall dissing someone who didn't diss me first, the non douchebags I listed almost all gave me suggestions, and I damn sure didn't diss them. Why? because they weren't acting like jackasses when they offered advise. Try using simple logic next time you attack people.

Yeah it is. It handles 6 SCSIs too! THAT IS IMPRESSIVE! I went with the Noctua NH-U12F instead of the TT. Figured I would give them a try and I am glad I did. Almost silent and definately on par if not a little better than the TT. What case fans are you using?

Curmudgeon5462, if your face is still attached after looking at RobsX2's rig, take a gander at my sig. Is your face still on? I doubt it.

Very nice system, my friend. Memory timings look good as well.

Yes, post FPS!

I was looking at the 5000/5200 for a gaming rig myself, some weeks prior.

Make sure it is a video so we can see your GTX crash from being underpowered.
