Okay my friend says an i7 2600 is bad compared to a fx 6350 what should i get it would be cheaper to get the i7 2600 because my mobo is lga 115 so which one?

my budget is around 190 dollars but the only reason I was going to get the i7 was because my mobo is lga 1155 and it would cheaper than a mobo and cpu change.

That motherboard should have native Ivy and Sandy Bridge support. You should be able to pick any i7 2xxx or 3xxx.

Ivy Bridge Processor Support = Yes

While I don't think you will have any issues, the only two things you may have to do is update a BIOS (obtained from Dell) and reset the CMOS battery.

For gaming, there's no difference between the i5 and i7. If you want to stream and render, the i7 is better.
