I have an old PC I'd like to try to build into a sound editing/recording machine. I was thinking of using this thread as a loose foundation for the specs, possibly. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1639653/building-music-editing-recording-audio-fasttrack.html#.

I have small questions, for example, will the front power switch wires be compatible with newer motherboards? Also, have power supplies changed in size or will I be able to find one that will fit in this case? Basically, can this be done?

The motherboard in it is an Asus P4S800D-X and the inside of the case says 2BD-601A-CM01-X. Here are some pictures...

Power supplies have not changed in size. Your front panel wires will connect to new motherboards. Yes, you can use the case for a new build. You will need to clean the dust out.
