Question Old CPU default stable specifications

It's really stupid question, tho i have nobody to ask and can't find any info. I have quite old system:

HexaCore Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition, 3466 MHz (26 x 133)
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R v2
DIMM: Kingston 9905474-040.A00LF (KVR13N9S8/4) x 4 (16gb)

Problem is... cpu or ram is not running stable with 1333Mhz frequency and uncore 2.666 on win 10.

So if i understand correctly: i7 990x support only: Memory Types DDR3 1066
So i changed multiplier for memory from 10 to 8 (it's now working on 1066 frequency). Though i am not sure about uncore. It should be x2 bigger then memory right? Question is....

What is default uncore for i7-990x? Not 2666Mhz? I set 2133Mhz, looks like ram still lagging for unknown reason, tho no bsod's at least for now and more less stable (i tried different ram, no difference, it's ok). I did all correct?

update: chatgpt told that this cpu can run DDR3 memory on 1066/1333 frequencies in turbo boost mode o _O tho i tried, seems it's unstable, is it lying? lol

Not a stupid question. Finding information for old systems/components can be problematic.

I found the following link:

Intel i7-990X CPU

The link may or may not be a match to the CPU in hand.

However the links and specs may serve as a clue to find the required information.

= = = =

And be very leery of what "chatgpt" may say.... Not lying per se. Most likely, if so, just wrong.

Yeah... it's just wrong i think, turbo boost shouldn't effect ram speed. I guess correct uncore is 2133Mhz for 1066Mhz. But anything higher can result to error's, instabilities, bsods, tho seems ram doesn't really like to work on low frequency so sometimes can be problems with lags or OS load (like win 7 for example). It should work on 1333 (666) with 2666 (x18 multiplier or auto), tho it's very likely cpu just can't handle it and fail stability tests. It will need i guess some voltage overclocking, tho it's hard to figure out which one is stable... fluid thing, so it's all total crap. Basicly i did not overclock, but downclock at the moment (motherboard setting ram to 1333 by default) and i set memory multiplier to 8 from 10, it works somehow.

DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 ) (8-8-8-22 @ 609 ) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 ) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 )

It looks ridiculous a bit, i mean for this motheboard it's top cpu and itself it supports ram up to DDR3 2100+, but top cpu can't handly such mem frequency. :x

Not unusual as I understand such things.

Many people try various configurations and settings in some incremental process working one way or another until instability occurs. Then revert back to the last stable configuration.

Usually there are trade-offs and sometimes not all that much to be gained.

Your post is now only a day or so old as of this post.

Could well be that someone else may read the above and be able to offer other ideas and suggestions.

Keep an eye on your thread.
