Hey guys, I'm asking for a friend. He has an old computer that's pretty slow. We play games together quite often that aren't graphically intense. He uses his integrated graphics at the moment which can't play games like counter strike. He's found a graphics card that he wants to buy, however before he buys it, he wants to make sure it will work and fit on his computer, and whether this is the best card to go for. Keep in mind that he lives in Latvia, and doesn't have enough money to buy a new computer. I've checked the card and IMO it should work but after all I'm not experienced enough to make a judgement.

Motherboard: CN-0D517D-13740

(sorry about different language but you should be able to understand the specs)

I got him to send CPU-Z screenshots:

So here's my question: Will the graphics card work on his hardware given that he has a very old computer and is this card the best value for that price? Anything else should we know about using newer cards on older computers?

Solution
The ASUS page I looked at showed that card as a fanless card with a WIDE heatsink. Since the graphics slot is on the opposite side of the motherboard compared to standard mATX motherboards there could be an issue with clearance on the heatsink. I can't be sure one way or the other. Just something to try and research.
