Hi all. I have a new upgraded system, asus z270 prime board. I wanted to use my old 500gb Samsung spinpoint hard hard disk for backups etc, but the bios doesn't detect the drive, just my main win7 ssd. I have verified the device is working normally in my backup pc, (it's an older gen system, with windows 10)
So this may be due to the AHCI mode in the newer build? Question is, do the newer standard drives work with ahci mode or will I need another ssd for extra storage?
