Old HDD requirements

I have a bunch of old HDD's my friend said he found but didnt want, so naturally im curious and wanted to check them but im unsure of what i need to check them in the first place the slots on the back are uunfamiliar to me so maybe you guys could help me out

You need an IDE connection. Most modern mobos dont have them

I found it thanks to Imgur comments its an old IDE port if anyone is wondering

you can use IDE with SATA using a converter. Though performance of IDE drives is pretty slow (max 133 MB/s for ATA 133...100MB/s ATA 100, etc) whereas SATA starts at 150 MB/s for gen 1 and reaches 600 MB/s for gen 3 the latest SATA spec.
