hi,
so my old hdd was dying, and i cloned everything onto a new hdd, but there is a problem. i want the new hdd to be labeled as the C: drive, but for some reason it will not let me. when i try to do so, it says "Assigning or removing drive letters on the current boot or pagefile volume is not allowed."
i dealt with the pagefile issue, but as you can see from this picture ( http://puu.sh/BHFOF/c8d73db14e.png ) it is still the boot drive. i tried going into the bios to change it so the newly cloned drive would be from where the os boots, but for the past 3 hours i haven't been able to.
any help please?

You did the clone process wrong.
At the end of the procedure, you must power off, disconnect the old drive, and allow the system to try to boot up from the new drive.
You can't just change the drive letters around like that.

If at all possible, redo the whole operation.
Exactly like this:
Specific steps for a successful clone operation:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the 450MB Recovery Partition, here:
