My gaming tower wasn't turning on one day so I brought it to the local Geek Squad and they helped me figure out that my motherboard(GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R) was not working. I guess it somehow broke, but I was wondering if it's still worth the money to invest on another motherboard so I could piece it all back together.

I would assume 250 - 350 dollars. Do you think I should buy it used or new?

For that money you should rather take a locked i5 4th gen with a h87 board...

I saw these 2 pretty cheap motherboards I was wondering what your guys opinion of them are. And I don't understand why my Gigabyte motherboard was 3x more expensive than these boards. Can anyone elaborate on that for me?

Here's something I just remembered. I hope you have your software disks. If you try running on a different motherboard, your OS will complain and require a repair install. Be very careful. If possible, back up your data before you do that. I remember a few times hosing a system during the process.

Oh dang. I don't think I have those.. Will it just require an entire reset? Or will it like junk my new motherboard? What other options do I have?
