Here's the dilemma, I have a 2017 Samsung MU 6500 that I'm trying to connect my 1996 Kenwood KR V6080. Clearly the receiver doesn't have Toslink, HDMI, or any of the newer tech. Question becomes... how do I use my old receiver with my new tv?
You can only use it in analog simulated surround sound. That receiver has no multi-channel inputs, just stereo (red/white). All you can do is get a toslink to stereo converter like this -- https://www.amazon.com/Optical-Toslink-Coaxial-Digital-Converter/dp/B01DZXWHJA/ It will accept the multi-channel digital output from the toslink on the TV and create a stereo output for the amp. I have no idea if the surround will be usable or not.
