I have a 2015 Eurocom 17" laptop with SLI 980m GPUs. I bought some Opolar vacuum coolers because the GPUs kept going into thermal throttle. The vacuum coolers definitely help, but now I question if the internal GPU fans are an airflow restriction due to the vacuum coolers being used.
I was thinking of removing the fan blades from both GPU heat sinks, and seeing if the temps get lower, or higher.
I know... it's a heavy laptop, and adding coolers just makes is a desktop, but I want to hold out as long as I can on buying a new laptop.
