Old motherboard 775 with a SSD?!

Hi,

i have a MSI G41M-S03 Motherboard and a Q6600 CPU (775 Socket)
i was wondering would i be able to use my SSD?

Absolutely! Don't expect it to be able to go beyond the limitations of your motherboard, but there is nothing preventing it from functioning.

SSDs have in fact been around since the days of IDE - they just weren't very common or cost effective.

oh, learn something new everyday. would it still perform faster when booting a OS, etc... or would it run the same as a bog standard hdd link hdd: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Zmw323/toshiba-internal-hard-drive-hdkpc03

Yeah, max speed on SATA II is about 300MB/s Max speed of HDD is like, 50MB/s. So still a whole lot faster.
