Old Motherboard compatibility with new PSU and GPU

Hello everyone I have an MSI H55M E33 Motherboard and I’m looking to upgrade my PSU to a EVGA 500w W1 80+. My main concern is that my motherboard requires a 4 pin ATX12v connector And I don’t know if the PSU has one. I’m pretty sure this is a dumb question considering the PSU has a 12v rail and a 4 pin connector but I Know nothing about PSUs and want to make sure

Hello everyone I have an old MSI H55m E33 motherboard and I’m looking to upgrade to either a sapphire R7 270x or 370x and personally I do not believe this poses a problem but my friend told me that some old motherboards are not compatible with newer GPUs so I’m asking you all Who I deem to be far more qualified than him.

Most modern PSUs have 2x4pin that connect together to form an 8pin EPS - so there's compatibility with boards requiring only 4pins.
Even modern boards on the lower end still use just the 4pin.

As for that PSU itself:

There comes a point where modern GPUs start having compatibility issues with older board.
With a PCIe slot though, you're *mostly* ok.

Some systems lack the BIOS support for modern GPUs - but those are typically:
1. Older than your board
Or
2. OEM motherboards

Your current motherboard should support any modern GPU you wish (although, give the age of the components I'd probably stick to something in the 1050/1050TI territory, maximum).
