I have a set of 35 gig raptors that I had in a gaming rig back in the day that I would like to get some files off, before the pc they were in died I had windows Xp pro running,
Now I was thinking of putting together a low end second pc for media and some low end games,
My question is if I buy a motherboard combo that includes the processor and memory and has a mobo that supports raid 0, and 1 ( the drives were in one of these modes when it died) can I add my drives and boot it up like nothin happened? Or do I need to reinstall a fresh copy of xp when I put the the new rig together. If theres a bootable copy of windows on the drives it should just boot up right?? Any advice woukd help,
I have a 500w power supply, hard drives, cd-drives, case, and am currently looking at a mobo(which includes a video and audio, lan, etc) processor, memory , from what remember thats all I need to put a computer together
