There is an old software called Free Sound Recorder. It worked on my old computers with a Windows XP, and Windows Vista. It was the best. It was so good that it was the only reason I kept my older computer becuase it worked. I can't get it to work on new computers. I have tried doing the compabitily thing. I don't know hwo to use a viruatl machine. Is there any simple way to get it to work? The company does not make the sfoteware anymore then.

I may be able to help on this one, but you need to specify what you mean by "make the quality better".
So on Free Sound Recorder they have an option where you can make the stuff your recording having a better quality. It is rare to find a PC sound recording software that does this then. Most of them you can just record. This one you can record, but you can also record it to be better then. Think of a audio that is not that loud, if you record it with the right setting, it can get louder then. I don't know what it's called, I think they referred to it as a way to boost the audio, and I think some other place referred to it as a gain control.

Well - only other things I can ask?

Are you running your connection through a VPN. If so, try turning it off.
Make sure you are saving the file to your local hard drive. Not a network shared drive.

Just so you know, the software is now owned by Beijing Aviation Trust Intellectual Property Consulting Co,, China. I'm in Canada so I have no issues but if you are in the US or elsewhere, it may be blocked by your ISP provider.

Have you tried contacting them through their support page telling them you have issues downloading their product?

Sure feel free to ask anything in general about this that you like then.

No I am not running my connection to VPN

Yes I am tryhing to save the file to my drive, which I assume you mean my computer, I am saving it the same way I would save anything from online then.

If you are able to use it, may I ask what version you are using? And what Windows are you using? And just to make sure, you actually downloaded it, and installed it, and it opened, and then you actually recorded something and it worked then?

Just so you know, I am able to use an older version that I have on my older computers, but I can't find a version that would work on my new computer then.

By the way just so you know, when I try getting the software from my old computer, and instaling it on my new computer, it seems to install, and then when I launch it, this pops up then -

Exception EACMAudioinError in modeule FreeSoundRecorder.exe at 000857D2. Error opening audio device for input. Bad device ID.

So then after that some people who had a similar problem wrote online that it could be something about enabling steroe mix or enabling microphone input, so I tried chanigng one or both of those things to find out if it would work and it did get it to launch, but now when I press the record button to record something a new error pops up and it said somethign like

Unable to find address id 0000000 or something like that.

Any idea what is going on?

By the way have you ever considered that maybe it does not work on a newer windows since it said it is required to use windows that are older then?

Hey also, would you mind if I just gave you a call since you seem to know this topic? I have been trying to get this prodcut to work for years, and also I have been writing to you off and on since about December, and a phone is much more faster, and a phone is much more practical then.

I think they referred to it as a way to boost the audio
Well, you can do boost audio using Audacity as well. However, this is not the same as "make the quality better" (as the latter must implies either some "magic trick" or do some distortion using AI that might get the audio sounds better but not neccesary getting closer to the original sound (that doesn't exist a non-compressed version of to compare) ),

I don't have any issues using the software. I am able to run the program with no errors.

Installed Version is 3.33.1.0.
Windows Version: Windows 10 Pro 21H2 Build 19044.1466

Have you tried contacting them through their support page telling them you have issues downloading their product and request they ZIP the file? They should be able to supply you with a direct link or even email it to you.

I am out of suggestion wrt downloading the latest program other than check your security settings in google/edge.

I have tried every stinking popular recoriding software and none of them record it as exactly the same....evne if im wrong, they dont have the volume gain to make the quality better then.........even if im wrong about that some of them are too complciated then............the free sound reocrder as the best then...........but it doesn't work........I am seriously considering to just buy an old computer just to use it.............does anyone know how to get it to work?........or maybe if there is some other software that I do not know about that is just as good?

Volume gain doesn’t make the quality better. It just makes it louder. There is no magic that takes a low-quality MP3 and turns it into high-quality music it can’t be done because the signal isn’t there to begin with. If you don’t start with last less or very high bit encoding MP3 then you can forget making the quality any better

Well the reason I wrote better quality is becuase just becuase something is louder doesn't make it better. So what this software did was yes it made it louder, which made it better then.........but anyway............however you want the term to go, that was an amaazing software...........I have used so many others, and I can't find any other software like that................do you know anything like taht?..............and more important...........do you know how I can get that one to work on a new computer?

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode
Yes I have tried that and I tried every option available............nothing works...........and no one seems to know how to make this work........I am amazed at how such a simple thing can't be solved..........I can't find a way to make this software work on a new computer.........and I can't find another software that is close to this software.

If you knew how software was constructed you wouldn’t think it was simple to get it to work on a new operating system. Your only choice is to run an older operating system in a virtual machine and use your software there

Well I wrote two things......one was what you wrote about..........the other was why there is nothing similar to this......I would think you would at least understand the second one........and to your first point.............I don't think what i wrote is ridiculous, beucase if they have a compatiablity mode, and the software is not some complicated nasa software then, you would think it would be reasonble to expect it to work, especially when many people ask to try compatiablity mode, including you. I mean it's annoying that these morons make computers that don't let old softwares work, it's more annoying that the compatablity mode's don't work, ti's more annoying that they don't make any other software that is as good as this, and it's more annoyign that the company that makes the software won't reply back...........so I don't know why you feel the need to write stupid things

Your majesty if you think this is a waste of time then stop writing me back then. But if you want to help then please help then. If you are not sure what to do thats fine.

But no reason to write like you are on top and letting me know how tought it is to make a software as if you really think I dont know that or as if that matters when it comes to a question about the prodcut.

So I have two things the software won't work and if there is any other software that is as good as this one then .
