My old drive is dying (6-yr-old 40g, XP Sp2) and I've tried to replace it w/ a new drive (400g seagate ultra ata). I used a program called Driveimage XML (http://www.runtime.org/dixml.htm) to do a drive-to-drive copy of my old drive to new drive.... everything is there but it won't boot. It seems more like an exact "clone" instead of a ready-to-replace drive.

This all means i'm probably wearing my ass as a hat & I don't know what I'm doin'.

Can you guys (& gals... love the ladies  ) point me to a resource or a forum thread where this question has already been answered? All i need is a step-by-step guide & i can take it from there :)

Thanks a Billion!
