My PC was overheating to the point of beeping with only the antivirus running. I took the cover off, plugged it in, and powered it up. I found two fans, which were working fine. The power supply felt cool so I imagine the intake fan was running.

No searches uncovered any data on how many fans this exact PC package is supposed to have. One: I'd like to have that data in case I missed something, something isn't working, or there are jacks for other fans I could add.

Two: if the fans are okay, what else should have caused the overheating? Based on the task manager, it was the Windows Defender Antivirus. The AV has caused it to run at full power before. But this time, the temperature readings got as high as 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

I completed the same kind of full scan with Defender with everything else that was running at the time running. I used the tools to watch for temperature increases, CPU load (with Task Manager), and fan RPMs and increased % fan usage. Everything looked fine within good numbers.
