So about a week ago i upgraded to SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon R9 280X VaporX TRI-X Boost, 3 GB GDDR5, it's been working all good but when i opened my case i noticed only 2 out of my 3 fans are working. Is the third fan supposed to go off when playing a bit required games or on jumping temps or what?

Nice card. 😀

1. Download MSI Afterburner and change the fan settings to something like 60% to test the fan speed.
2. Check driver settings (AMD control panel and/or other software/drivers you may have installed) and possibly BIOS to see if the GPU is running on something like a 'silent mode,' where only several fans are active when idle.
3. Check to see if the fan connector is properly connected (if it requires unscrewing/dismantling any parts that will void your warranty, don't do it.)
4. RMA for bad fan.

Good luck.

Downloaded afterburner, turned up to 60%, still the third fan isnt starting.
All of the pins to the gpu and fans are correctly connected.

How are the fans wired? Most Sapphire cards that use multiple fans are wired in a Series to one connector which means you can not individually control them. If this is so the fan is dead and you should RMA since replacing them yourself will void the warrenty.
