I have tried many things, but I cannot for my life get my laptop to connect to wifi. It is a Lenovo Y50-70 and I have tried restarting the laptop multiple times, reinstalling my network adapter drivers through a USB and reseting a bunch of stuff that people said to do in YouTube videoes. I am getting incredibly frustrated and am about to throw this laptop at a wall.

Please help me. I can provide screenshots of whatever I just need my laptop to connect to the internet! Thanks!

Edit 1: I ran the diagnose command for internet connections and it said "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer." I ran "sfc /scan now" and there were no errors.

Edit 2: This is what my ipconfig looks like if it helps at all...

I'm getting desperate I just deleted winsock and winsock2 and reinstalled other copies of them from online. Still nothing, I was thinking maybe it could be a VPN that I installed that had an "internet kill switch feature". I uninstalled the program so it shouldn't be a problem, but idk...

i think i have a very similar problem, but maybe a fix for you is in here since my problem is only on ethernet and not on wifi.

OS: windows 10
netwerk adapter: Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

error: one or more internetprotocols missing on this computer. (no issue on Wifi, only with ethernet)

attempted fixes (in this order)

-devicemanager > networkadapters > killer ethernet controller > properties > drivers > remove (uncheck remove drivers for this device) > ok.

-command: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
> resetlog acces denied > registry editor > hkey local machine > system > control > Nsi > eb004a00..... > 26 > permissions > full control
> reset log again > succes but doesnt help.

- winsock reset.

- disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP

further description problem:
sometimes i can connect for a little while, the problem usually occurs after a few minuts or after opening more than one website/program that uses internet.
if i navigate to a website using chrome i get the error: dns_probe_finished_no_internet. i tried forcing the dns manually but doesnt help.

ps: i read something about disable SMBv1, SMBv2, SMBv3, but i dont know how this works exactly, can somebody explain more in detail what i have to do if this might be a fix? because i dont really understand what to do from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2696547

kind regards,

Alex

Hey Alex,

I've tried everything that you have with no succes... Only it never lets me connect to the Internet. One solution I saw for someone else was changing the power settings from performance to balanced. See if that does anything, didn't work for me, but ya never know. Maybe even turn your computer off for 30 seconds and turn it on after changing the settings and see what happens. Good Luck! Let me know if you end up figuring this out. I'm thinking about just taking it to my college tech help center, but I've got a feeling they will just reinstall Windows.

This was a result of IVACY VPNs bad programming. I know they messed it up somehow, but I have since found a solution on another forum. In case anybody has this problem I am posting for you, hopefully this works. Maybe someone can give an explanation for how or why this works,

Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Allow a program or feature > remove Bonjour > reboot computer and watch the magic unfold.

Edit: Try this as well

Go into your Control Panel

Click Device Manager

Click arrow to left of Network Adapter

Right click on your network adapter, and select uninstall

your network adapter will no longer be listed

Go to Action on the top left of screen, just right of File

Click scan for hardware changes and your network adapter will be reinstalled.

Reboot Router, then reboot PC

You will have to select your connection and retype in your password.
