One Smart TV connecting to Amazon seems to create multiple network connections, slowing loading

If I connect my one smart tv to the internet and view an Amazon program and shut down the tv, then later watch another program, it appears on my network as more than 1 TV. When I have 3 or 4 of these "network TV" connections, there begin to be loading problems and complaints from the network that my bandwith is too slow. The only way I have found to delete these phantom connections is to power down the router and restart it..

Jubry1,

You are connecting the Smart TV to a LAN port on the router - please confirm. (You stated "connect my one smart tv to the internet" and I want to be sure that you mean the router and not directly to a cable modem.)

What make and model router are you using?

How is the Smart TV obtaining its IP address? Dynamic (DHCP) or static? What is the Smart TV's default IP?

When you see multiple "network TV" connections on your network can you see what IP addresses are/were assigned? Do the connections show as active or inactive (online vs off-line)?

Thanks.
