I bought my G.Skill TridentZ's in late June and they have been working fine since. But this morning I woke up and noticed something. Only one of my DIM's was displaying the correct colors that I had programmed it to display. The other was just showing the default Rainbow color gradient. I went into the software but nothing worked, only one of them was changing. I hadn't done anything with the software or uninstalled it at all. Anyway, I turned off my computer, reseated the RAM, and rebooted, same issue. I did it again, nothing changed. I even changed the slots that I had my RAM installed in, nothing. Please help as it looks very out of place with the rest of my setup. Any feedback is welcome! :)

Just have to wait for G.skill to get there software out of beta.

Yup, you've corrupted the SPD data on the sticks of ram, there is loads of warning around the net saying not to use any software to control the sticks at the moment as its knackering the sticks up, you can check to see if yours are corrupt by downloading this and running it: http://www.softnology.biz/files.html

If it says crc error at the bottom, the spd is corrupt, if it says crc ok, then you got away with it, you can fix it yourself with that software by paying for it, but only on an AMD system, not an Intel based system currently as the Intel chipset blocks SPD writes.

Funnily enough, I didn't have to do any of that. All I had to do was switch the DIM's around in their slots putting DIM #1 in Slot 2 and DIM #2 in Slot 4 instead of DIM #1 being in slot 4 and DIM #2 in slot 2 and it worked. I got fixed. I even switched them back to their original spots just to see if anything had changed and they still worked! :) Anyway thanks for the advice on the software but how does one control the rgb then if not through the software?
