Open RGB caused non stop usb disconnect sound!
Recently I cleaned out a bunch of bloatware on my pc, including the msi controls for the rgb. The pc was running great, however the rgb lights were completely random due to not having a program control them. I had heard good things abouty Open RGB so I gave it a try.

Upon opening OpenRGB the mother board and mouse were found (not the keyboard). So first thing I try is to set the color on the motherboard (includes the fans) and I clicked Save or whatever. This is where the problem starts… Immedietly the motherboard and fan lights shut off and I start hearing the usb disconnect sound. It will ding a few times then sa second or two will pass and it will ding again. At the same time the motherboard option disappeared from open rgb, so no way to revert the changes.

Ive deleted open rgb and re downloaded msi light control. I've tried setting a new light pattern in the msi program but zero responds from the rgbs and the usb disconnect sound is presisting.

Update: I have disabled the sounds in windows for a temporary work around. However another problem is typing is very lagged and Im sure other things are too.

Amd 5600x
3060ti
msi b550

Please help!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I think your registry is broken for the OS. Can you see if you can perform a system restore to a point before you installed Open RGB? Side note, what is the make and model of your motherboard(even though you've state using MSI's RGB app, i.e, MSI's Center app)?

Well. I did a system restore and the problem is presisting. Typing seems to be improved.

I think you either need to perform SFC /Scannow...but if that fails, you might want to reinstall your OS, in offline mode, then install all relevant drivers in an elevated command(white offline) and then connect to the internet.

Here's a guide you can follow;

Ok, I got through most of that but at the end when you go restorehealth/source:e:\sources\install.esd it comes back saying sources cant be found
