Open Test Bench vs Case

Hey guys.
I wanted to know the pros and cons of running a system on an open test bench, and the pros and cons of a case. and if it's okay to always run your system on an open test bench.

You are likely to get much more dirt and dust in your case if its open. On the other hand, its a lot easier to clean out if its open. I prefer to keep it closed up though. Mainly because computers are designed to have airflow through the case, and the fans cannot do their jobs if the case is open.

The test bench is to make it easy to swap out parts. If you want to do that a lot then get the test bench. Otherwise get a case - that protects the parts inside.
