I need to get rid of Windows default apps from the open with menu.

Run it and follow these steps:


From the menu, click on Options then click on Filter by Extension Type and select Context Menu
On the list, you'll see some of the entries with pink background, those are installed by the third party software
Hold down CTRL Key and select all of them you don't want then click on the red button on top left corner to disable.
Click on the Options again and select Restart Explorer
Now try to right click on desktop to see if it fix your problem. If it does then start to enable one by one and repeat step 5 until the problem occurs again, that's the offending extension.

I am trying to remove the Windows 8 photos app and mspaint from the open with submenu in the context menu. The default way to remove programs using the registry doesn't work with default Windows apps and since I've removed the photos app now there's a broken application in the open with menu called twinui.

The programs I want to remove do not appear in shellexviewer, those programs being mspaint and windows 8 photo viewer; the modern app.
