OpenGL message “lost connection” on a gt 610

I have been recently getting this problem with the message above. This happens when i run a game on about medium settings. But looked around and saw some people saying it is a physx issue and if you put physx on the cpu it solves the problem but I dont know if my cpu can handle it. I have an intel core duo vpro and if it can handle it how do you put physx on the cpu.
