So, I want to switch the fan from my Fury X rad so I need to take the plate off.

But i do not have the right tools for it (i think) so i need to buy them but first i need to know what they are.

Can anyone link me or tell me what tool do i need???

I can't seem to find videos on youtube or even googling it.

Thanks in advance!!!

It looks like you just need a small allen key, I'm not sure what size though. Remember that the Fury X radiator fan is wired to the video card and uses a proprietary connector, so you'd either need to wire the new fan to the proprietary connector (which would probably void your warranty), or just put the fan on a motherboard header.

The stock fan is supposed to be really good though.

And leave it hanging by the cable, spinning outside the case?😛

My problem is not unscrewing it from the rad, but disconnecting the power cable.

Mine rattles, it becomes noisy when at higher rpms. Also for aesthetic reasons 😀.

Allan key? Is it the same we use to open hard drives?

But if i just disconnect the stock fan and then connect the other fan to my MOBO will it void warranty?

Also (on a side note) is there any software that allows me to create a fan curve related to the gpu temperature?

Thank you!

An allen key/hex key is this type of thing -

I have to agree that the fan is pretty ugly though lol.

It shouldn't void your warranty if you just disconnect the fan from the video card and then use a new one on a fan header. I'm not aware of any software that can do that though unfortunately 🙁 Unless you have an ASUS motherboard that supports the fan module thingymajigy, then you could place a probe inside the video card and then the fan curve would automatically adjust according to the probe temp.

Yeah it is, especially the XFX with the gray sticker lol it really doesn't go very well on my black/red build.
But it's noisy and, since i got one with a silent pump, i don't want to rma it because of the friggin fan.

I do have an Asus Z97-Pro! What fan module are you talking about??

It's the ASUS Fan Extension Card, unfortunately, I think it's only compatible with ASUS X99 and Z170 motherboards 🙁 BUT! You might not even need something like that anyway. I see your board has 3 2-pin headers on the motherboard, you might want to check if any of those headers are for thermal sensors (it should be labelled 'T-SENSOR' on the motherboard).

Other thing to look at are Corsair Link, NZXT Grid+, Speedfan
