windows 8 is gonna suck. lol. not everyone wants a touchscreen. It has been observed that when MS puts out an OS every other 1 sucks. OK, XP, great. Vista suck. win 7 great. win 8 sucks.

Do you really want to have to hold your arms up to your screen all the time to use your computer? That's all I am going to say.

Exactly, I really don't get what this article is even about...
No, I didn't even read it.. Not going to either....LOL

Touch is an added feature to Windows in Win 8. Don't like it, switch to the Win 7 interface.

It makes sense - it will allow MS to develop one OS for smart phones, tablets, and computers. What other benefits it will have, I don't know, but adding another way to interface is a good thing.

😉

I have to say, the title of this article is nothing but a TROLL. It's designed to elicit an emotional response and start an argument. Shame on you. Microsoft isn't "risking Win 8 on Touch" because it isn't forcing everyone to go out and buy touch screens and use them exclusively to interface with Win 8. That's ludicrous.

I can't believe all the whiners who complain about innovation because it doesn't suit *their* needs. Innovation doesn't wait for you to be ready to use it, it leads you to realize how you can do something in a better, more efficient and more effective way. This is the case with Windows8 and its focus on touch devices and its versatile design. Apple has done this with their products and they have been hugely successful. If they were releasing a OSX and iOS product on a tablet with hardware that could support it, people would be fawning over it. Thing is, they would never do so in fear of cutting into their sales. Don't want 8, stick with 7. Don't like the Metro interface, disable it.

C'mon, I like sto recline in my office chair, so I can be nice and comfy and still reach the mouse and keyboard. With touch, I'll have to sit up straight and fondle the screen with my fingertips? No thanks.

With Touch technology I could see keyboards changing in the near future. for example the numeric area of the key board could be come a touch screen that can be turned on/off for apps. & other productivity or even game input. Those who don't have touch screens (me included) can have a touch screen keyboard hybrid of some kind.

But I think the mouse will stay for now. Gamers like myself wont give those up for a while. How can you play shooters without a mouse? Razer has key board for Starwars that has a LCD screen similar to what I explained.
