Question Opinions on First Build?

Welcome to the forums!

Wildcard has put in a great suggestion above - you only need a stock cooler if you're not overclocking really.

Just as a quick note which Wildcards suggestion has already eliminated - which could simply be just how it is viewed on your list - buy 2x8GB RAM from the same pack, not 2 individual 8GB modules.

Cheers, I am thinking of overclocking it maybe and the RAM is cheaper to buy it like I am than as 1 packet, I think. How important is the RAM speed because then, if I changed it, it would probably be cheaper to buy just the one packet?

If you're suggesting that it's simply cheaper to buy 2 seperate packs, then don't. Buy a whole new pack.
Even if they are the same make/model/timings in every way, they are not guaranteed to be compatible if they are from seperate packs. RAM modules are only guaranteed in the form sold (I.e. the same pack)

Just a quote I have used multiple times before:
Mixed RAM modules are not guaranteed to work together - the only way even the same models are guaranteed to work together is if they are in the same pack, worst case if they are the same date code. Basically the manufacturing process changes a lot and frequently, so a small change can all of a sudden make modules not work well together. So even if they are the same make/model/timings, it's irrelevant.

Not saying it never works, just it's a 50/50 bet. And is common for mixed modules to not work nicely together.

Largely because the last thing I would want to happen to you is to buy 2 different packs, and then they do not work together, as it just becomes a huge headache, and is quite common.

RAM speed is much more important now in DDR4 world and now modern applications are utilising RAM speed more effectively. Just Ryzen can be a little picky with higher RAM speeds. Realistically you'd probably want to aim at 3000/3200.

The stock cooler can handle a bit of overclocking, but this will also depend on ambient temperatures in your environment.

First build and this is around my budget, could push to £750/950$. Going to use it mainly for casual gaming and work, nothing too graphically intense and needing of a 1080ti or like.

If you have any suggestions, feel free.

Cheers

Does that budget of 750 pounds include all your periferals?

If yes, this is the setup i would go for.
