Hi guys,

After a extensive search I gave up because there is so much of this problem.
I have a few problems which I think is my HDD so I ordered a new but not certain now.

Symptoms:
Resource stalls during games
Slow alt-tabbing to desktop
computer hangs and sometimes crashes
Upon starting comp I was forced into the BIOS
HDD disappears from BIOS

Windows event viewer:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0.

Chkdsk:
To scared to do this before my new SDD arrives.

Crystaldiskinfo:
Says HDD is good. Temp around 30.

Tried updating drivers for it and I updated the audio drivers(Read on another thread)
interestingly enough, everything is working perfect at the moment.

If its a driver problem, would I be able to format and use this drive as a secondary when the new SDD arrives?
I'll Reinstall windows 8.1 when it arrives then update to windows 10 when its released hopefully.

Hi,

Currently searching for a problem. I'f I find one ill post here for future reference incase someone searches.

Last night I downloaded HDD manufactures software and did a pass(non dos). To my surprise it passed :s
Would be happy if it didn't, rather that then the motherboard.

Anyway, will let chkdsk have a go while I'm at work today.

So I've completed 1 chkdsk and 3 seatools scan and a crystaldisk scan to which it passed them all- the chkdsk did hang for along time on certain percentages.

Wiggled the power and SATA cable to the hard drive.
Wiggled the RAM.
