optical drive issue

I have a matshita sw 830 and does anyone know the specs (speed ) and if the drive is a good one or bad.

Being a Panasonic (Matshita is owned by them), it is good. The specs can be found here http://www.digistor.com/Optical-Drives/CD_and_DVD_Drives/Panasonic-5-25-Internal-DVD-Burner-SATA-PAN-SW-830 - the drive is branded both as Panasonic or as Matshita. Although pricy (IMO), I wouldn't hesitate to use it if I had one

Mine has no name on it. It came in a dell xps 8700 desktop. Am i to assume correctly that the inner workings are of the specs you listed? Thanks

Without seeing the drive, no way to know for sure but I would assume so.
