optical driver needs to be gone

hi everyone i just came home to switch on my pc and it started making a rattling , vibrating noise and i opened it up and i couldn't tell were it was coming from so i felt it in the top right the most were my dvd drive is and its really loud even though there is no disk in the drive. basically i want to simply unplug it or you guys can tell me if its something else but im really annoyed at this because i cant hear anything while im working.

and can you also tell me how i can unplug it i dont want to completely remove it.

same as a hard drive ? just un plug the sata or ide cable and power cord remove from tray / bay should be all theres to it

hi thanks for the tips do you think the noise is coming from there or someone else its like a vibrating noise really annoying.

could just unplug the power to it so it cant run and see if noise is gone then yes ?? if the noise is still there then move on to something else maybe a faulty case fan my case has a fan in front of the drives to help cool them ???

just do a process of elimination of thing - seems to me if it was the optical. drive it should not do anything unless theres a disk in to to trigger it to spin up that I could be wrong if going bad and just acting crazy
