I have a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 mobo w/ 6600k cpu and there are no fan controls in the bios. The only option (I know of) is in the App Center software that comes bundles. I suspect that the App Center is actually causing my system to crash and I want to uninstall it. The only incentive are the fan controls. Are there any other third party utilities that can automatically control fan speed that will work on this system? SpeedFan doesn't seem to work.

Thanks.

I find that strange because in order to have a software suite running in windows that allows you to set fan speeds.
The cpu speed, and temperature thresholds ect.

It does this by directly talking to the bios to change the settings on the fly with the system.
In fact the bios has to have these options.

Why you cannot find them in the bios may be because you are in basic mode of the Uefi enabled bios of the motherboard.

In order to see the options for speed settings or fan profile mode settings you have to be in the Advanced mode of the Uefi enabled bios.

You can normally find the option to change to advanced mode bios options on the main bios page displayed.
You just need to look for the option lepermessiah.

Once set, you find in...

Once set, you find in the sub menus of advanced mode you will have fan profiles of low, Medium, High you can set or key in a Rpm value for the fans in your system.

The options will be there if you enable advanced mode options of the bios.
