Picked up an older Optiplex 790 SSF, upgraded the RAM t 2x4Gb. System had windows7, upgraded to windows 10, but it only came up as 32bit. now trying to load 64bit OS. Here is my struggle, I loaded windows 10 64bit OS onto USB memory stick, (actually an SD card using USB adapter) using media creation. Went into the Bios to load from USB reboot but it continues to boot up normally as if the USB is not there. I can see it, no problem, but stuck.

What am I missing?

You might want to do the process of installing the OS, some justice. Source an 8GB pen drive and recreate the bootable USB installer via Windows Media Creation Tools. You also want to see if you've got any BIOS updates pending for your OptiPlex.

Thank you Lutfij, you were spot on. I saw somewhere that all USB media would work. The only memory stick I had with sufficient memory was the SD card. That did not work. a proper USB pen drive worked the first time.

On another note, I adjusted the Boot priority to load from USB. Now when i reset this I see one of the boot load options as
"PO 36******".
Another as "NIC **"
What are those, and any suggested order they should be in?

thanks again, I appreciate your help.
