OS won't start and startup repair is broken

After turning my computer off for a day, I started it up an hour ago to find that it wouldn't start up.

Startup repair doesn't work, saying it cannot be fixed automatically. I tried chkdsk, /scannow, most things recommended, and I cannot even boot into safe mode. The Windows 7 loading screen shows up for half a second, then it goes straight to the Startup Repair, which again, doesn't work.

I enabled the skipping of startup repair to find that the log states that windows cannot start up, and that the file \system32\drivers\acpi.sys is corrupted or missing. I've tried a repair cd, which also says that it cannot be fixed automatically.

What can I do now? I've run out of options, and need this computer to be able to work by Thursday to be able to do work, and I am quite confused as to why this isn't working.

Thank you so much in advance, I truly appreciate it.

I'm not sure if my hardware has anything to pertain to this, but let me know and I can provide specs when I'm off mobile.

yes, and even then it goes to the startup repair, which doesn't find anything

tried it, said command completed but restarting only brings me to the same broken system repair screen.

done, nothing has changed though unfortunately, still booting to the broken repair screen
