Question Otg issues

I bought Minecraft pocket edition to play with an Xbox 360 wired controller on a Huawei mate 20 lite.i am using an otg cable and when I connect the controller an d the phone the green ring on the controller just flashes

Mind sharing the make and model of the OTG cable? You might want to also see if the cable+controller work flawlessly with another android device in your household.

It was a generic type c cable from ebay

Try to connect other usb devices with the OTG, like a keyboard or mouse. If they work fine, then your controller should also work fine.

Otherwise, the problem is with the cable itself.
