We just "built" a system with a Ryzen 5 3400g and 8 Gb of RAM and a 300 W psu in a nice, new case. We are running PCLinuxOS fully updated on a 5.9.16 kernel. Not overclocked but temps usually up around 65 C bec. we're running the Folding@Home project. Vcore is 1.34 and Vsoc is 1.10.
The memory is: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-8GVKB

i've seen what i think are post of the other threads here and it seems like a lot of people have the same problem. After a while, especially if i leave the system and the screen turns off, when i come back neither the mouse nor the keyboard work and i have to reboot.

i've noticed that in google searches many think that working with the BIOS settings will help, while here, it seems like it's a ... hardware issue. So, i'm confused.

Any ideas? Please take care and stay safe and have a super Sunday!

Please stay safe and have a super evening! :)

We updated the BIOS to the #52 this morning and the machine has been stable all day.

Machine: Type: Desktop Mobo: Gigabyte model: B450 AORUS M v: x.x serial: N/A UEFI [Legacy]: American Megatrends v: F52 date: 12/09/2020

We are going to mark this as Solved. Thank you very much for the tip and

have a beautiful evening and stay safe! :)

OOOOppppps - spoke too soon. Updated the BIOS to the #52 and the same thing eventually happened. So we upgraded to the #60e and now it's happening again.

Was browsing the net and ran across dmesg --follow, so i set that up to see if we could catch something...

The system starts to conk out with...

can't change power state from D3cold to D0

Have a radiant evening and be happy! :)

We changed the psu to a Seasonic GX-500, 80 Plus Gold, 7 Year Warrenty and the problem still appears.

The online chatter seems to coalese around the idea that it has something to do with the change in power states, hence the " can't change power state from D3cold to D0" lines appearing first in dmesg as the machine becomes unstable.

Have a super day and stay safe, please! :)
