Over clock AMD or buy new

I have a Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7260. It has the AMD A6-6310 processor. The Toshiba spec sheet says "up to 2.4GHz. My system is showing 1.8Ghz. Can I over clock this cpu or do I need to get a new faster cpu?

A laptop is what it is. If its not performing the way you'd like you need to replace it (as in get a new PC).
